Foreign Device Registration
Foreign Device Registration is the process where a 'Foreign Device' can register with a BBMD in order to join a BACnet/IP network.
A Foreign Device is a device on a different different IP Subnet, or one that is using a different BACnet Port Number (e.g. Not 47808).
A BBMD may or may not support FDR.
The BBMD can be considered a Foreign Device Registration Server, and the BACnet Device wishing to register can be considered a Foreign Device Registration Client.
BBMD
A BBMD can be considered a Foreign Device Server, as well as a BACnet Router simultaneously.
